Hello! I’m R.J. your Barn Concierge! I know it sounds a bit silly, but it truly reflects what I do. I provide a diverse array of freelance services that cater to nearly every need a barn might have, not just at competitive prices, but below. These offerings and rates are designed from my 20 years of managing Five Star Eventers, Grand Prix Jumpers, and One Grand Prix Dressage rider, including the 37 years in the Equine Industry. (I made myself sound old. I'm young a 40) I understand first hand how challenging it can be to find temporary help without straining a barn's budget. I was at a show when my braider cancelled just before 4 am. R.J. was next door, and heard my loud, frantic call and offered to braid quickly but only had 30 minutes, they would be bands and not perfect. I accepted. They turned out beautiful, and she insisted don charging half price because they were not up to her standards. She’s always my first call when I show.

How far do you travel?
I travel within 250 miles of Tampa FL area
Do you stay overnight for house or barn sitting?
Yes. Overnight stays are available depending on scheduling and location.

What services do you offer?
I provide exercise riding, horse clipping, day/hour/week barn help, and full pet, barn, and house sitting. I also offer barn setup and schedule reorganizing.
Can you handle special-needs or senior animals?
Yes. I’m experienced with custom care plans and will follow all instructions provided.
Horses can “map” human footsteps. Some learn to recognize the sound of your walk versus anyone else’s, even from outside the barn. Sneaking in with treats is a losing game.
Before real veterinary science existed, medieval farriers treated colic by tying a rooster to the horse’s belly and praying. The rooster rarely cooperated. Neither did the colic.
